Who is responsible

StromTek Inc., Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is responsible for this website and for anything you send through it. Luke Hammerstrom is the person who reads it. You can reach StromTek Inc. at [email protected] about anything on this page.

What this site collects

Almost nothing happens automatically. There are no cookies, no local storage, no fingerprinting, and no advertising or social media pixels. Fonts are served from this site rather than from Google Fonts, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you did.

Two things are unavoidable:

  • Request logs. Like every website, each request is recorded where it is served: an IP address, the time, the page requested, and the browser’s user-agent string. This site runs on Cloudflare’s network, so those records are Cloudflare’s, kept under its own retention terms and used to keep the site running and secure. StromTek Inc. runs no server in front of this site and keeps no logs of its own.
  • The content delivery network. This site is served through Cloudflare, which processes requests on the way to you and applies its own security filtering. Cloudflare acts as a processor for StromTek Inc. and is subject to its own privacy terms.

Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage, and does not fingerprint your browser or your device. It counts page views, referrers and rough country in aggregate, and it cannot follow you from here to another site.

That is why there is no cookie banner on this site: there is nothing to consent to. Cloudflare processes the measurements on StromTek Inc.’s behalf and is subject to its own privacy terms.

What you send me

The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, business name, current website, budget range and timeline, and whatever you write in the message box. It is used to answer you and to scope the work — nothing else.

It is not added to a mailing list, not sold, not shared with an advertising platform, and not passed to anyone else except where a service provider must handle it to deliver the message to me. There is no newsletter on this site to be subscribed to.

Enquiries are kept for as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back. Ask me to delete yours and I will, and I will confirm when it is done.

Client project data

If StromTek Inc. builds or maintains something for your business, that work may involve access to systems holding your customers’ information. That relationship is governed by the agreement between us, not by this notice, and it always includes: access limited to what the work requires, credentials never shared or reused, and your data never used for anything other than delivering the work.

Your rights

Under Canadian federal privacy law (PIPEDA) and Ontario law you can ask what personal information StromTek Inc. holds about you, ask for a copy, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted. Email [email protected] and I will answer within a business day and act within thirty days.

If you are not satisfied with how a request was handled, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

The site is statically built and served over HTTPS from Cloudflare’s network. There is no database, no application server and nothing that runs when you visit: every page was generated before you asked for it, which removes most of what there is to attack on a website. The source lives in a private repository, every published version is kept, and an earlier one can be restored in moments. No system is perfect; if you believe you have found a security problem with this site, email [email protected] and I will take it seriously.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. There is no version history to hunt through: what you are reading is what currently applies.
